Lusaka, August 9, 2024 – The Zambia Free Press Initiative (FPI) is proud to announce its sponsorship of two prestigious awards dedicated to climate change reporting at the upcoming 22nd MISA Zambia Platinum & Golden Media Awards, taking place on 20th September 2024.

In a strategic move to bolster the quality of climate change reporting, the FPI, with support from HIVOS, will sponsor the Best Climate Change Reporting Award (Print) and the Best Climate Change Reporting Award (Television).

These awards are designed to recognize and honor outstanding media coverage that addresses critical climatic themes, including water, energy, gender, demographics, and disability.

FPI has championed excellence in journalism and these media awards are a platform through which journalists will be appreciated for their resilience in reporting on climate change.

The organization’s latest initiative seeks to enhance the skills of journalists, ensuring they produce accurate and impactful climate change stories that influence public discourse and policy change.
